The more control you have over your internal dialog, the more control you have of life in general. The mind itself creates the imbalance and the mind itself can create the balance, you have to train it to do so. So you train yourself with mantra to replace that internal dialog because the mind likes to have something going on, it feels insecure with silence. The idea is that you retune your mind to a sound vibration that’s hooked to an infinite consciousness.

In life most of us live below the OK axis. It is possible to reach the OK axis and it is possible to make the journey to the other side. A great revolutionary quote that came from Yogi Bhajan is that “Happiness is Your Birthright”. This means it’s OK to be happy, it’s possible to be happy, and it’s possible to do it in this lifetime. This stands opposed to what Freud said about psychotherapy which says that the purpose of psychotherapy is to take a person from neurotic misery to ordinary human suffering. If humanity is to make it through these times we need many, many people to make the great journey and to teach others how to make the great journey.

Kundalini is the life force that manifests in this double helix form, this progression of the DNA.  Think of it as a gravity well of consciousness where everything including light itself gets sucked into a constant almost solid state of inertia.  But there are pathways out of this gravity well, out of this singularity, out of this dream state that we are caught in and that pathway is following that double helix, following that energy, using that template as a visualization of consciousness itself.  If consciousness is a result of its own self. If this is the goal of life then those pathways are viable and programmed into the structure itself. It’s our jobs as yogis to rediscover and make the connections to those pathways.

Take this meditative space you are experiencing and see how deep you can go, how close you can get to sleep without falling totally unconscious. Explore those boundaries. As a yogi you have to get as close as you can to unconsciousness while still being conscious. What is it when you fall asleep, do you die? No but you’re unconscious, and you come back. But if you can make that transition consciously then you begin the meditative mind, otherwise you are just thinking of meditating.

The secret is control of the breath. Control the breath we control the heart rate, control the metabolism, control the most important part, the mind itself. The intent of consciousness has to be programmed into our personality. We must create a personality that interfaces both conscious and subconscious. We must be the same person in our dreams as our waking state. These kundalini exercises help train our ability to take a deep breath and center ourslves when we are dealing with the most stress. Then we're able to have the self awareness to stop ourselves and in the midst of all this life and dream and make that connection with the infinite horizon within. By focusing on the breath we are able concentrate on a single action, by concentrating on a single action we are able to focus on a single result. That single result allows us to move forward to the next action. This is the inner journey that everyone takes. When you make that journey, everyone you meet is your teacher. Every sound is the universe talking to you.This way of living is a path of truth.
